Why Join?

No Experience? No Problem!

We welcome shooters of any level, even those who are completely new to the sport! Whether you are looking for a new activity to pursue or just think archery is cool, we have reliable coaches and certified instructors to ensure that you have the best experience. Our club provides equipment during lessons; all you need to bring is your enthusiasm! If you want to move to the next level and get more practice, we also offer quarterly and yearly memberships.

What Our Club Can Offer You:

On-Campus Practices

During the school year, you can find us practicing on Howard Field, adjacent to the track and the Memorial Union Parking structure.

No need for off campus travel, and conveniently located! Parking is free on weekends unless there is a special event.

Lesson Days

Using our Discord sign-ups, members can sign up for a single session of shooting: one at 9:30 AM

Equipment is included with your membership at no extra fee. Our coaches and instructors take the time to guide every archer, both beginner and advanced!

Lesson days are usually hosted on Sundays, but at the start of the school year we host for the full weekend. Check out our Discord for updates!

Coaching and Instruction

Stance. Nock. Grip. Set…
We go beyond the 10 basic steps and aim to provide you the best archery tips!

Our coaches started their journey in archery in various ways; some have amassed years of knowledge, and some are alumni of UC Davis and former competitive team members. This means that we can offer a more dynamic experience and valuable interactions, no matter your level.

Several of our members and officers are not only competitive team members, but also certified USAA Level 2 instructors. Our friendly instructors check in on your progress and are happy to answer any questions!

Memberships

Quarterly Membership – $30
Yearly Membership – $75

With a club membership you gain access to two additional practices during the week. This gives you more time to practice and connect with coaches and experienced members.

Club Membership also requires completing a form on Fusion (formerly B2H) due to Sports Club guidelines.

Game Nights and Socials

We do more than just shoot!

Being part of the club is all about companionship and having fun. That’s why we love having game nights and food socials throughout the year.
One of our favorite social activities is Sardines. A twist on hide-and-seek, played in the “Death Star” on campus in the spooky chill of the evening.

Competitive Traveling Team

Our club has a competitive team! We attend several collegiate competitions throughout the year.

Winter Quarter starts our indoor competition season, and Spring Quarter begins our outdoor competition season. We travel primarily within California, but sometimes out of state!

If you would like to shoot competitively, members must shoot at an official practice or event and receive a qualifying score. A qualifier can be completed on campus under the supervision of one of our coaches, or at our annual fun shoot, The Gunrock Classic!

“The UC Davis Archery club is a great place to make friends and challenge yourself. I love developing the focus and skill it takes to be an archer, but mostly I love being able to relax with such an excellent group of people.”

“I co-founded the UC Davis Archery club to be a place where students can come and learn archery and stay for the community. Watching this club grow over years, I can say that I am extremely proud of the community we’ve built together and the connections students share through the love of archery.”
